This DVD will be launched in November at the Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas. The DVD will be available both on the New English Quilter stand at the Houston show and from this website.
If you want to learn how to create your own art quilt from fabric through painting and stitching to finishing and hanging this DVD takes you step by step to complete your own wallhanging art quilt.
My aim is to unpack the complexities of creating art quilts and help anyone access the process and project while being inspired and encouraged to ‘just have a go’.
The Mother-of-the-Bride commissioned this necklace for her daughter’s special day. The colours were selected to co-ordinate with her dress and earrings were made to match. It is fully beaded using semi-precious stone chips and size 8 and 11 beads with a silver clasp.
It always amazes me when I see the collection of work I can produce… even without realising. I will make and create because it is the healthiest thing for me to do. To lay completed artwork out and sit amongst it for a few days really does help me realise what fun I have had designing, creating and making these works of art…. be they buttons, recycled and up-cycled bags or linocuts, batik hangings, glass art or quilted postcards and bed quilts.
Setting Up an Art Quilter is so easy and straight forward. It is a breeze.
These short arm quilting frames are fuss-free and great fun to use it makes me grin ear to ear. If you are looking for a frame to set your quilting free and to take the strain off your arms, neck and eyes whilst quilting your patchwork then this is just the frame for you. I struggle to manoeuvre layered quilts under and around my machine bed. These frames allow me to move the sewing machine around the quilt WITHOUT having to weight bear anything.
The NEQ quilting frames (yes I have more than one) allow me to be creative and expressive in my quilting patterns. I love the potential the frame helps me access.
